30th JCC Cinema:
KOMANEKO SERIES

On 31st January 2015, JCC held its 30th cinema session featuring two films from the KOMANEKO series, entitled "Komadori Eiga Komaneko" and "Komaneko No Christmas: Maigoni Natta Present". These films, directed by Tsuneo Goda, are stop motion animation films produced by the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography.

The KOMANEKO series won the jury's special award for its imaging technique from the Motion Picture and Television Engineering Society of Japan. It has also received high acclaim through invited screenings at the Zlin International Film Festival (Czech), London International Animation Festival (UK) and Seoul International Cartoon and Animation Festival (Korea).

An enjoyable film that was watched by both adults and children, the KOMANEKO series received many positive responses from guests to the event. The characters were drawn with great detail that one felt as though the animation was brought to life.
